Pumpkin Face Quesadilla

Hey Gang we have another spooky class for you this week, well it is the season for it.

We are making pumpkin Face Quesadilla with our own home made Salsa and Halloween chips!

This dish is another great accompaniment to our Halloween party table or the perfect feast for a Halloween movie night

We cant wait to see you all cook up a storm for this one

Pumpkin Face Quesadilla and home made salsa

Equipment

  • 1 Scissors
  • 1 Chopping board
  • 1 Vegetable peeler
  • 1 Grater
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 2 lined baking trays
  • 1 stick blender (optional)
  • 1 pair of sun glasses or goggles for the onion optional
  • 1 Halloween cookie cutters

Ingredients
  

  • 8 tortilla wraps
  • 200g cheddar or mozzarella (or both)

for the salsa

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 200g passata
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • season with salt and pepper
  • drizzle of rapeseed oil

Instructions
 

  • Pre heat oven to 180c
  • We will start by prepping our Veg for our salsa
  • Peel and chop the onion with our veg peeler and scissors. (don't forget your goggles or sun glasses)
  • Peel and grate the garlic
  • Chop the red and green pepper with our scissors into small dices
  • Add a drizzle of rapeseed oil to the saucepan over a medium heat on the hob (we are going to be really careful)
  • fry of the onion and garlic for a minute or two until soft
  • Add the tomato puree and a pinch of sugar
  • Sprinkle over the cumin and oregano and season with salt and pepper
  • Add the passata and red and green pepper and cook on a low simmer
  • Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180c fan
  • We are going to make our pumpkin faces with our wraps , using a small knife or scissors
  • if you would like your salsa less chunky give it a little blend
    Spread some salsa on the wrap, top with mozzarella or cheddar
  • place your pumpkin face on top
  • we can also make some tortilla chips by using our Halloween cookie cutters, cutting out some shapes, adding a drizzle of oil and placing on a baking tray
  • oven bake our quesadillas and tortilla chips for 5 to 10 minutes
  • serve with some extra salsa to dip
