Pasta Al forno

For our kids in the kitchen class this week we are making Pasta al Forno. An Italian classic, which is pasta bake!
This is a great dish for Autumn , so warming a wholesome for this time of year.

Our Kids in the kitchen will have great fun making the sausage balls and prepping the vegetable’s
Fingers crossed the dish will be a regular fixture on the Weekly Meal plan

Pasta Al forno

A delicious homemade pasta bake the whole family will love

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 Ovenproof dish
  • 1 Scissors
  • 1 Baking tray
  • 1 Saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g pasta fusilli or Penne
  • 12 or 400g high content pork sausages
  • 1 pepper red
  • 100 g Sweet Corn
  • 200 g passata
  • 1 tbsp Tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp dried oragano
  • 1 bunch fresh basil
  • 1 tsp paprika smoked
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 pinch cracked black pepper
  • 200 g mozzarella Grated or A fresh ball

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180c fan
  • In a saucepan of lightly salted water boil the pasta for 8 to 10 minutes
  • remove the skins from your sausages and roll them into little sausage balls
  • Add the sausage balls to a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes
  • We will start prepping the veg by cutting our red pepper into dices with clean scissors and adding it to the mixing bowl
  • Next add The sweetcorn and mix
  • Squeeze in the tomato puree and a pinch of sugar
  • Sprinkle over the oregano and mix
  • Pour over the passata
  • Sprinkle over the smoked paprika
  • Give all your ingredients in the good mix
  • Add some torn fresh basil
  • Drain your pasta and add it to the bowl with your sausage balls, give a mix and add some more passata if needed
  • and transfer to an ovenproof dish
  • Even it out in the dish and add The grated or 1 torn mozzarella ball
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Oven bake on the middle shelf for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Get an adult to take it from the oven
  • Serve and devour
