Chicken Ramen

Hey gang,

We are super excited about this weeks class because its Chicken Ramen, and we think you are going to love it!

You are going to learn loads of valuable skills in this one, like not only make a gorgeous Chinese style tray bake , you are going to make the perfect boiled eggs to serve with your Ramen!

Lils will also so a little chop stick tutorial, that’s just for me guys !!!

Chicken Ramen

The kids will learn lots of skills with this one ! Not only Make a gorgeous Chinese style chicken tray bake, but also learn how to perfect and peel boil eggs ! Skills for life.

Equipment

  • 2 chopping boards
  • 2 Scissors
  • 2 Saucepans
  • 1 lined large baking tray
  • 1 Grater
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Tbsp measure
  • 1 large bowl (for the eggs)
  • bowls to serve
  • tongs to serve
  • 1 colander

Ingredients
  

  • 1 nest Egg noodles per person
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 spring onions chopped into thirds
  • ½ tsp grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove crushed
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 100 g Tender stem broccoli
  • 1 Red pepper
  • 100 g Baby corn
  • 100 g Mangetout

Chinese Style sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 egg per ramen
  • 100 g sesame seeds to finish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C, fan 180°C, gas 6.
  • Boil the eggs on a simmer in a separate saucepan for 7 minutes
  • We are going to chop our chicken with our scissors and add it to a large baking tray
  • Also slice the spring onion and grate the garlic and ginger and add it to the tray with the baby corn mangetout and Tenderstem broccoli
  • Mix your soy, honey and sweet chili in a small bowl
  • Add a glug of sesame oil to the trdy and pour over the sauce
  • Give all the ingredients on the tray a good mix
  • Place your Tray in the oven and Cook for 25 minutes
  • After 7 minutes remove the eggs and add them to a bowl of cold water
  • Add the noodles to a saucepan of water and boil for 12 minutes
  • Tidy away and wipe down your work space
  • Drain the eggs and peel them, we will have a little tip for a slightly easy peel
  • Using the bridge method slice the egg in half
  • Drain your noodles and add a little sesame oil to prevent them from sticking
  • Once the chicken and veg is cooked remove from the oven
  • Now we are going to carefully build our ramen bowls using a tongs and being mindful not to touch the hot tray
  • Add your veg to one quarter of the bowl
  • Add your chicken to the other quarter
  • Using a tongs add the noodles add a little spoon of sauce from the tray
  • finish with your boiled egg and a little sprinkle of sesame seeds
  • Well done guys on another fabulous class
