Pork and apple Sausage rolls

We have taken the humble sausage roll and perfected it. This little A twist on a delicious classic, may very well become your new favourite. The sweetness of the apple works perfectly with the pork.

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 mini chopper
  • 1 Lined baking tray

Ingredients
  

  • 8 jumbo 8 sausages skins removed
  • 1 apple peeled and grated
  • 1 onion peeled and grated
  • 1 tbsp dried sage
  • 1 garlic clove crushed
  • 320 g ready rolled pastry puffed
  • 1 medium egg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven 180 c fan gas / mark 4
  • Prepare a baking tray with greaseproof paper
  • Peel and Grate your apple and onion and peel and crush your garlic (you can add to a mini chopper or food processer with adult supervision)
  • Skin your sausages by making a small incision in the skin at the top and peeling like shown
  • To a large mixing bowl add the apple, onion garlic and sausage meat
  • Add the sage and season with salt and cracked black pepper
  • Get your hands in a give a good mix
  • Cut the puff pastry into 6 rectangles
  • One at a time roll a sausage shape out of the sausage meat
  • Put your mix onto the edge of the pastry and fold and seal pressing the edges down with a fork
  • Brush each one with a lightly beaten egg
  • Place 2cm spaced apart onto a baking tray
  • Bake in the oven for 30 mins
