Honey Glazed pork chops

This week we celebrated “yum,s” 3rd birthday… she was 18 months when I first started to blog, so I feel you have all watched her grow with me… Her birthday was pretty low keyscooter-yum I made my broken biscuit cake (it’s pretty famous in our family)  and we had a small get together.. “yum” has grown into a happy-go-lucky, affectionate “determined” little girl… (did i say determined?) her giggle would stop you in your tracks.. she tells me a million times a day ” I not a baby, I a big girl” … she’s still a baby and a big girl all at once…

With turning 3, she can now be “a little fussy ” with some food… she knows what she likes, and that’s pasta, rice, and curries, ..  When I cook something different she will eat it, but is a bit more reluctant than her younger self … These honey roast pork chops are a new favourite because they are so tender (you’re not chewing for ages on them) and the veggies go down a treat because they taste so sweet (poetically said). It really is a lovely autumn warming dinner.. (and if I was in a pub for a Sunday dinner, it’s exactly what id order) I pick up my chops in the chill section of the supermarket… so well on a budget too …

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil/ fry light
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup or wholegrain mustard (i love the mustard ones but the kids love the ketchup ones)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 red pepper
  • 1 onion


you will need a frying pan and oven dish

heat the oven to 180 c

dry your pork chops with some kitchen paper and season with a little salt and pepper

put olive oil /fry light on the frying pan on a medium heat on the hob

seal the chops on the pan… give them around 5 minutes on each side… making sure they’re brown and crispy looking …

peel and chop the veggies… (chop the carrots into thick matchsticks the onions and peppers into chunks)

add  veggies to an oven dish… with a sprinkle of olive oil/fry light

putting you’re sealed chopped in the center…

in a small dish mix honey, soy sauce, and ketchup or mustard  and pour over the chops and veggies… (being generous over the chops)

bake for 25 mins…. after 25 mins take the chops out, and put to one side rest for 10 mins… (cover with a plate to keep warm)

turn up the oven to 210 c and finish off the veggies for 10 mins giving them a shake…

serve with creamy mash ….

  1. Oh I love pork chops with honey. So delicious! Happy 3rd birthday to yum. I think it’s definitely an age thing, my little one is starting to get a bit more fussy and particular with food too x

  2. Made this for dinner this evening. A great success and will definitely make again. Thank you for posting this recipe. We are not fans of mash potatoes so I did roast potatoes instead. No extra hassle as the oven is on already.
