On Monday I got pretty enthusiastic about doing a bit of a clear out.. You know one of those days , were you take a
look around your house, and wonder how you,ve accumulated so much crap!!!(thats the one) Then, without a second thought, get stuck in.. the first hour your on a roll.. black bags are getting filled.. everything is getting the heave ho.. (even the dog is nearly getting flung in a bin liner, for good measure..) that,s short lived… the enthusiasm soon wears off fairly
quickly.. but you have to continue.. keep going.. there,s no turning back.. (ah crap)…
Yep I was flying round getting loads done. “yum” toddling after me, cleaning the floor with baby wipe,s ( she,s well trained …) I didn’t have time to stop ( I know your thinking, STOP are you crazy, you,ll never go back to it) but in the flurry of the clear out, I had forgotten about lunch (and when “yum” eats lunch, she then goes for a nap, so then i,ll get more done).. I had a quick nosy in the cupboards.. (not much their, I hadn’t done the food shop yet) and because I was in my
clear out the house clothes “pajamas” I couldn’t go to the shops.. So I had to have, a break from the bin bags (the dog is now smiling at me!) and out of the remains of my fridge and food cupboard,, rustled up these “flat-bread pizzas”..
luckily enough I had made up a batch of marinara sauce at the weekend.. and had left overs in the fridge .. but if your stuck yourself, this is optional, you can use tomato puree if you haven’t the making,s of marinara sauce at home..(no stress) and use what ever toppings you have at hand.. (I had cheddar and Parmesan cheese and a bit of basil, that,s it) this recipe takes around 30 mins to make from start to finish.. and makes 4 flat bread pizzas .. I even got “yum” to help ..
Get messy.. have fun .. one yummy mummy x
- 7oz plain flour
- pinch of salt
- 100mls of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Marinara sauce / tablespoon of tomato puree
- what ever toppings you like
get the kids to put the flour and salt in a mixing bowl
get the kids to add the warm water bit by bit, and mix with a spoon
get the kids to add the oil, flour the kids hands and get stuck in kneading the dough
flour a work surface and cut the dough into 4 balls
roll each one picking it up and turning as you roll. (if you don’t have a rolling pin use a cling film roll)
now this is our job, heat a frying pan on a high heat with
spray the flat bread with olive oil/ fry light.
fry each one for 7 mins each side (they will be lighter in colour with brown spots)
top the flat bread with marinara sauce/ tomato puree.. then cheese.. then what ever toppings you like
place under the grill until cheese is melted and toppings are cooked..
that,s it… really easy and really quick… now pass me that bin bag.. x
